Minimal

Nothing extraneous.

Mark Two was designed to be minimal and beautiful. There are no logos or excess ornamentation, and the seam on the body (to unscrew and replace the refill) is nearly completely hidden by a post-polishing process. The black cerakote sleeve has a slightly textured, matte finish, and the body is polished and smooth.

Pocketable

Take it with you.

Mark Two is quite short when sleeved, making it an ideal pen to carry in your pocket or purse. However, the magic happens when you post the sleeve on the body. Due to a clever bit of engineering, the pen elongates to a full length when posted. And when you are ready to cap it again, the body slides into the sleeve with a satisfying magnetic closure.

Durable

Made to last a lifetime.

If you’re going to be carrying a pen around every day, it needs to be durable. Mark Two is made entirely out of stainless steel. The outer sleeve is coated with Cerakote, a robust ceramic-polymer coating that wears beautifully. This pen should last a lifetime.

Refill

A mini version of the beloved Schmidt.

We were delighted to discover Schmidt makes a mini version of their amazing P8126 rollerball refill, identical in every way except the length. Perfect for a pocket pen. The Schmidt P8126 mini is what ships with Mark Two, but our pen will also work with a D1 refill and our custom D1 Adaptor.

With or without a clip

Whatever suits you best.

We know tons of folks want a clip on their everyday carry pen, which is why we included one in the original design for Mark Two. However, in this new revision, we are now offering an option with no clip. If you prefer the clean, almost bullet-like appearance, clip-less is a great option.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the Mark Two transition from pocket size to full length?

By some clever engineering! Although the sides of the Mark Two body appear parallel, they are actually slightly angled towards the back of the body. This allows the body, when flipped around, to “wedge” into the sleeve, creating a full length pen.

What are the exact dimensions of the Mark Two when sleeved and posted?

The Mark Two is 88 mm sleeved, 130 mm posted and 11 mm wide at widest part.

Is the clip removable or adjustable?

The clip is not adjustable or removable, but we offer a clipless and a clip version.

What are the available finishes for the Mark Two?

Currently Mark Two is available in black, orange, blue, and green Cerakote finishes.

What is Cerakote?

Cerakote is an extremely durable ceramic-polymer coating. It creates a matte, super smooth finish that ages beautifully. Learn more about it here.

Great Pen (worrisome clip)

The pen body and cap are solid, and the conceit of the body nesting and rotating works very well. I enjoy the black/black colorway. The only concern is the option with the clip—it has quite a lot of play and feel flimsy, especially at this price point.

Awesome Pen

I like pens. Coming across through social media, it attracts my attention when it comes to one. I tried to get one of Studio Neat's pens, the Mark Two Edition, and I was delighted and satisfied using it, especially signing official documents. I know that we all have different experiences with pens but for me, I feel great having one.

A fat little effortless work of art!

yeah, yeah, another enthusiast pen, right? Not quite.
It's a girthy boy and when writing that makes far more of a difference than I had imagined.
This boy writes as smooth as Luther Vandross.
The quality of the finish and the overall fit and finish shows a lot of thought and intention. I think anyone would be satisfied with the Mark Two and, perhaps, spark in you to write a journal or that song or love letter sitting inside your noodle.

Heirloom Quality

I bought this as my go-to EDC writing utensil. I chose no clip because I just keep it in my front pocket. The quality and finish are superb. It’s a joy to hold and writes very smoothly. The weight feels right if not just a little top-heavy. I particularly like the use of magnets to keep it closed. Definitely feels like something I’ll be using for many years.
